Working to promote music in Sunderland

Sunderland Music Hub works with schools, teachers, practitioners, young people and organisations across the Local Authority, to ensure all young people can access a high quality music education. The partnerships provide a range of music education activities from instrumental tuition, ensembles, access to progression routes, singing opportunities and large scale performances and events .

All of this information can be found in the menus above, whether you are a young person wanting to join an ensemble, song writing workshop or other activity in and out of school, a tutor wishing to register to join the Hub, or a school wanting to access information and funding for music education. Or contact us if you are parent wanting to explore music tuition and performance opportunities for your child.

What People Say About Us

The Bunker Choir

“It was wonderful to see so many talented music groups and individuals from the area performing! The older girls really flourished in confidence after doing their arts award and all of the group really enjoyed having the opportunity to perform in front of so many people.”
(19th March Concert).

Holley Park Academy

“The children loved performing in front of an audience of their age and where it was held in a theatre was a new experience with a lovely acoustic. My children have already asked if they could sing certain songs that the other choirs performed so that is a positive outcome.  It was just a lovely afternoon.”

Burnside Primary

“It was great to see what other schools are doing within their music departments and a real boost for our children to get the opportunity to perform in front of other children-it’s a great outlet for all of the hard work they put in in-house.”
(18th March Singing Festival)
