Early Years Singalongs

SINGALONG VIDEOS

The fantastic Ashleigh Lowes has created a whole host of easy singlaong videos for Early Years aged children, check out the full playlist below! Beneath each video there is also an activity to go alongside, why not try them out?

The Bears in Music Land

Activity

  • Perform the chorus holding hands walking round in a circle.
  • Stop to perform the verses, using big actions for Daddy bear, medium actions for Mummy bear and little actions for Baby bear to emphasise the different rhythms for each bear.
  • There’s a space in the song for you to think of your own bear too. Granny bear? Grandad bear? Thomas bear? Alice bear? … you decide 🙂

Oh When The Band

Activity

Use home made instruments to sing and play along with Ashleigh, as she performs “Oh When The Band”!

Horsey Horsey!

Activity

Join Ashleigh and sing along to Horsey Horsey. Can you make the noise of the horse’s hooves? Ashleigh uses coconuts to do this. What could you use?

I Can Sing a Rainbow

Activity

Sing along and learn all the colours of the rainbow with Ashleigh! Why not also take a look at this reading list, featuring some amazing books about colours!

A Hedgehog is Very Prickly

Activities

Activity 1

Sing along with Ashleigh on her YouTube video
of A Hedgehog is Very Prickly. Add the actions in
too!

A hedgehog is very prickly,
A hedgehog is very prickly,
A hedgehog is very prickly,
It couldn’t be anything else.

Activity 2

What other animals could we sing about?
Ashleigh adds a verse about a tortoise and one
about a rabbit. Do you have any pets at home?
Could you add a verse about them?

Activity 3

In the story, Hedgehog and the Tortoise think of
lots of different ways to show they love each
other without hugging. Can you think of some
more ideas you can show someone you love
them? We love the idea of writing our family,
friends and loved ones a letter, picture or
postcard. You could do this too. You could use
these postcard templates on Twinkl here.
