Explore: Music Leaders

We’re looking for 10 young people aged 16-21 to be part of our exciting new Music Leadership programme!

Taking place over 6 weeks in June/July, participants will gain an invaluable insight into the working life of a Music Leader.

  • Receive support from Music Leaders that deliver music education and community projects both locally and nationally
  • Observe delivery of music projects to experience life as a Music Leader
  • Learn about inclusive music practice and how Music Leaders support the development of people
  • Meet other young people interested in becoming Music Leaders

 

The project is open to young people from all musical backgrounds. All you need is a desire to learn, a passion for music-making and a love for supporting others to progress musically, personally and socially.

Weekly ‘Get Together’ sessions will take place at Sunderland College, Arts Academy, on the following dates:

  • Thursday 16th June – 5pm – 6:30pm
  • Thursday 23rd June – 5pm – 6:30pm
  • Thursday 30th June – 5pm – 6:30pm
  • Thursday 7th July – 5pm – 6:30pm
  • Thursday 14th July – 5pm – 6:30pm
  • Thursday 21st July – 5pm – 6:30pm

Participants will observe delivery of at least one music project. Music Projects are delivered on various days and times throughout the week and in various settings. Participants will choose a project to observe that suits their interests and availability.
