Meet Our New Board Members!

We’ve got two brand new board members…

Sunderland Music Hub are delighted to announce the acquisition of Janek Podhajecki and Tracey Mienie as the latest members of our board. A recent public callout resulted in applications coming in from all over the North East, and beyond, but we felt that Janek and Tracey were best suited to the role this time around.

Both join the board with a wealth of experience within the music education and cultural sectors, bringing not only knowledge and expertise but also an enthusiasm for making Sunderland the best place to be a young musician!

Janek, a long-time performing musician and current Music lecturer at both Sunderland College and University respectively, had this to say about joining the Sunderland Music Hub board:

“I was lucky enough to be exposed to music from a very young age, and will be forever in debt for the opportunities and experiences that music has afforded me. Therefore I am so excited to join the Music Hub board, supporting a great bunch of people, who are passionate about providing all young people with the opportunity to experience music and the diverse skill sets and behaviours it can help to develop.”

Probably best known within the community for her work with 17Ninenteen and the restoration of Holy Trinity church as a brand new cultural venue in the heart of Sunderland’s East End, Tracey was very excited about this new role:

“I’m delighted to be part of the driving force supporting and unlocking musical potential, ensuring every child or young person in Sunderland has the opportunity to make music.”
